About Ardgowan House
Ardgowan Guest House, built in 1889, is a family run Guest House and has been offering accommodation since 1918, making it one of the oldest such establishments in Edinburgh. The proprietor Maureen has been personally welcoming guests here for over 30 years

The interior of ARDGOWAN has many interesting architectural features, including:

Original hand-painted wallpaper in the main hall

Sanded floors, doors and staircases

A short bridge on the top floor linking the two halves of the house

A minstrel gallery, also on the top floor, for would-be musicians (complemented nicely by the antique 1890 Collard & Collard grand piano in the dining room)

My friends and I were looking for a triple room to stay in the night before the Edinburgh marathon. In the end we booked the quadruple room with private bathroom and it was just what we needed

This is a lovely hotel. Very clean and fresh bedding and towels daily. The staff are exceptionally professional. Would recommend this place to anyone we know travelling to Edinburgh. Fantastic value for money.

Me and my wife recently stayed here whilst visiting family in Edinburgh. Very warm welcome and only a quick bus ride from princess st. Great value for money and ideal with the free onsite parking. Would be more than happy to stop here again

The house was really cute. The Staff was really nice. There was a scheduling conflict that I had with my friend where the last night I was going to stay at a different place in the city and it fell through. I was able to stay an additional night along with my friend. They were extremely amazing and very kind. Truly a great to stay.

Such a cute little place and the staff were very friendly and helpful! There’s a bus stop to city centre right around the corner so it’s always easy to get in and out of the centre. We loved our stay!
